Welcome to my web site and blog, Wendy Deans Horsemanship!
My business is a ‘Learning Center’. Wendy Deans Horsemanship and Rafter D Training have one goal; that is to give you and your horse the very best education. I have spent 32 years studying dozens of different programs to educate horses and people. I practice the teaching of Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, Tom Dorrence and Joe Wolter when starting my colts. I add in the principles of the sports of reining, dressage and cowboy dressage. I follow the teaching of Sally Swift’s Centered Riding. Most importantly, I believe that every horse and every student learns differently and that I need to adjust my program to meet the needs of each student and horse.
My husband, Gill, and I have the most beautiful property on earth in Paradise Valley, Montana. We are so lucky to be here. We have a 150′ X 330′ slide track outdoor arena, an 80′ X 80′ indoor arena and an eight stall barn as well as shed row stalls.
I will be sharing with you training techniques and stories about horses and people. I love to photograph and I will share tons of photos with you. I would love to answer any questions you have, so have at it, ask me anything (about training-I have no knowledge about fashion, politics or cooking).
Horses are my life. If they are your life then come along for the ride, you’ll enjoy it!
